Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a short nature experience or simply relax at your accommodation after the journey. Day 2

Chimpanzee Trekking in Nyungwe National Park

Wake early and prepare for one of the most exciting experiences of your Rwanda adventure: chimpanzee trekking. After breakfast, head to the designated park briefing point where experienced trackers and guides explain the forest rules and what to expect before entering Nyungwe's ancient rainforest.

Once inside the forest, follow trails through dense vegetation while listening for the calls of chimpanzees. When you locate a habituated community, you'll have an unforgettable opportunity to observe their natural behavior, including feeding, climbing, communicating, and moving through the forest canopy. After the trek, return to your accommodation to relax and enjoy dinner.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Transport: Pop-up roof 4x4 vehicle — short transfers between accommodation and trekking area; chimpanzee trek duration varies depending on the location of the chimpanzees.

Day 3

Nyungwe Canopy Walk & Forest Exploration

After breakfast, prepare for the spectacular Nyungwe Canopy Walk, one of Rwanda's most memorable forest experiences. Suspended high above the forest floor, the walkway provides panoramic views across the treetops and offers a unique perspective of Nyungwe's enormous biodiversity. Look for monkeys moving through the canopy, colorful birds, butterflies, and other forest species.

After the canopy experience, continue exploring the forest on a guided nature trail. Your guide can help identify different plant species, birds, primates, and other wildlife encountered along the route. Return to your lodge in the afternoon with time to relax and enjoy the peaceful forest surroundings.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Transport: Pop-up roof 4x4 vehicle — approximately 20–50 km of local transfers, depending on selected trails and activities.

Day 4

Colobus Monkey Tracking & Nyungwe Forest Experience

Today is dedicated to discovering more of Nyungwe's remarkable primate diversity. After breakfast, set out with your guide to search for Angola colobus monkeys, famous for their striking black-and-white appearance and large social groups. Depending on current sightings, you may also encounter blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, L'Hoest's monkeys, and other forest species.

Continue exploring the forest through carefully selected trails while enjoying the sounds, vegetation, and atmosphere of this ancient ecosystem. The day provides another opportunity for photography and wildlife observation without the pressure of a single short visit. Return to your accommodation in the evening for dinner and your final night near Nyungwe.
